Virtual Christmas

Although it was a virtual Christmas celebration this year, but there was no dearth of excitement among the scholars at Sam School. The tiny tots of pre primary sang carols and watched the animated stories related to the life of Jesus Christ. To get the feel of festive vibe some of the students even dressed up as cute santas. The middle school made the amazing crafts and alluring greeting cards on the occasion. Over all, the students cherished and thoroughly enjoyed being part of this grand and beautiful festival.

Curio workshop

"Never Stop Learning, Because Life Never Stops Teaching." An online workshop was conducted for the teachers of Pre Primary wing of Sam International School on 5 December 2020 by Ms Charu Bajaj, Founder and CEO of 'Skills and You.' The focus of the workshop was on the 'Scope of Learning', Different Modes of learning, Blended learning and the 4 E Approach in the online classroom.

VIRTUAL PTM( PS TO CLASS II )

"Connecting Home And School Makes Us A Great Community Of Learners." PS to class 2 successfully completed their second virtual PTM from 1 December 2020 to 4 December 2020. The parents were happy to see the SAM family provide quality education to their children during this difficult time and see their little ones enjoy the new mode of learning. The PTM concluded on a positive note.

Golden Colour Day

"You Mustn't Be Afraid To Sparkle A Little Brighter." Colours form an inseparable part of our life. To introduce 'Golden Colour' to the little ones, the Pre School of Sam International School virtually celebrated 'Golden Colour Day' on 26 November 2020.The tiny tots enjoyed making paper folded 'Golden Fishes' and also kept 'Golden Coloured' objects.

FIT INDIA ( CLASS I AND II )

"A healthy mind lives in a healthy body." Fit India movement is a unique and exciting opportunity to work towards healthier India. Keeping this in mind, the students of class 1 and 2 actively participated in different activities like Yoga, Quizzes and Family Fun games.

Fit India Movement

"Fit India Hit India" The Pre Primary wing of Sam International School celebrated 'Fit India Day' on 19 November 2020 to promote fitness. They excitedly participated in different exercises and yoga postures to strengthen their fine and gross motor skills. Teachers also motivated them to follow a set of exercises daily to remain fit.

Diwali Celebrations

The week-long Diwali celebration at Sam International School illuminated everyone’s heart with joy and fervour. The students of classes III and IV heralded the “Festival of Lights” by dressing up as immortal characters from the Ramayana. Students of junior classes made elegant lanterns and torrens. Celebrate cracker free and peaceful Diwali message was given by students of classes V,VI,VII and VIII through their thought provoking drawings and slogans. They also made colourful diyas on the occasion. Students of classes IX and X gave the message of eco-friendly Diwali through their self composed poems and musical jingles. The school Principal Ms Karuna Verma appreciated the creative work of the students and urged them to celebrate green, bright and safe Deepavali.

Children Day

“ I may not have time for adults but I have enough time for children “ Thus spoke Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India. The children all over the country fondly remembers him and celebrate his birth anniversary on 14th November every year with lot of zeal and enthusiasm. Students of Sam International School expressed their love and affection for Chacha Nehru through their beautiful drawings. They drew various facets of Pandit Nehru through their well expressed creative works.The school Director Mr Praveen Kumar and the Principal Ms Karuna Varma wished all the students Happy Children’s Day.

Culture of India

"A nation's culture resides in the hearts and the soul of its people." India is well known for its 'Unity in Diversity' across the world. This was well depicted by the confident cherubs of Pre Primary Angel Bird and Eagle on 6 November 2020 during their virtual class presentation on the topic 'Culture of India.' Dressed up in eye catchy attire, they spoke about different languages, dresses, food habits and rituals of India.

Online Career Webinar

An Online career webinar was organised by Edu TV for the students of class XII on 3rd November 2020. Discussion panel included a team of counsellors from Flame University and Alliance University. Students were briefed about various career prospects and courses offered by the universities.The students got an insight into the various options available according to their choice and interest.

National Unity Day

Students of SAM international school celebrated the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel with lot of zeal and enthusiasm. To mark the occasion number of online activities were conducted. Students took the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Pledge. An online essay competition was held for classes IX-XII. Students of classes VI – VIII made posters and wrote slogan on Rashtriya Ekta. Teachers educated the students of primary and pre-primary classes about the life and the contribution of The Iron Man of India.

Happy Dussehra

As the country celebrates the festive hues of Durga Puja and Dussehra, we at SAM wish the colour, bliss and beauty of these festivals stay with you all throughout the year. The students celebrated the festival of Dussehra with much fervour and gaiety. Mythological tales were narrated to the children. They spoke about the festival and made sketches of Ravan. Students of classes I to VIII depicted the triumph of good over evil through their very effective drawings and posters. The Principal Ms Karuna Verma greeted everyone on the occasion and said that these festivals teach the young generation the significance of Indian values and traditions .

Birth Anniversary of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam

“Dream, Dream, Dream” Dream transform thoughts and thoughts result into action. - APJ Abdul Kalam Sam International School paid obeisance to former president and missile man of India Dr APJ Abdul Kalam on his birth anniversary. A wide array of activities were held to mark the occasion. Students of the primary wing were told about the life and works of Dr Kalam. Students of senior classes spoke eloquently and made caricatures of this great icon.

Means of Transport

“ Travel to live, Live to travel.” Little cherubs of Pre School Daffodil conducted a special presentation on the topic ‘ Means of Transport’ on 13 October 2020. Tiny tots confidently spoke about different means of transport and showed beautiful and eye catchy props, headgear to make learning concrete .

World Mental Health Day

World Mental Health Day was celebrated on 10 October 2020 on the global platform to raise awareness among adolescents for positive mental health and well-being. The conference was facilitated by ‘Expressions India’. Joseph Emmanuel ( Director, CBSE, New Delhi ) was invited as the chef guest. He inaugurated the session and put forth the concerns that COVID-19 pandemic has brought and emphasised on the holistic approach to accept new experiences. Adolescents were encouraged to develop psychosocial and emotional skills for personality development. They were also enlightened about the Sustainable Development Goals ( SDG) to achieve better and sustainable future for all. The conference was highly interactive and educational for the students as it helped them to understand the importance of mental health and well-being

Career Counselling Webinar

Sam International School organised a virtual career counselling session for the students of class XII on 10th October 2020. “Do what you love?” was the tagline of the online event. Career decisions play a pivotal role in shaping the future growth and development of students. In today’s environment of multiple options knowing about choices available helps students in their decision making process. Ashoka university and Whistling Woods International participated in the webinar.They informed about the various new age courses such as game design, visual communication design etc . to the students. The session aimed at making the students aware of multiple career options available. The session was informative and enriching for the students

Yellow Colour Day

"Yellow Colour symbolises hope and happiness." The Pre School kids of Sam International School celebrated 'Yellow Colour Day' on 8 October 2020. The little ones all dressed up in yellow attire looked vibrant. They enjoyed 'Paper Tearing Activity' using the image of a 'Candle.' The kids displayed Yellow Colour objects to make the day fruitful.

Gandhi Jayanti Celebration

“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others “ Mahatma Gandhi A week-long virtual celebration took place at Sam International School to commemorate the 151st birth anniversary of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, a pioneer of truth and nonviolence. The students of the primary classes spoke on the life of Mahatma Gandhi. They shed light on Gandhiji’s invaluable contribution in India’s freedom struggle. Students of classes V to XII made posters depicting the various events associated with the life of the Father of Nation . Dandi yatra, Swadeshi movement, Quit India were some of the historical events that were beautifully depicted by our talented students. Our junior artists of classes I to IV showcased their talents by making portraits of Mahatma Gandhi. The school also paid homage to Lal Bahadur Shastri, the second Prime Minister of India. The school Principal Ms Karuna Verma laid the emphasis on non-violence with the thought “Anger is the enemy of non-violence and pride is the monster that swallows it up “ She asked the students to abide by their pledge to keep their home, school and city clean.

Shapes

"Children love playing with Shapes." Pre School Bluebells conducted a special presentation on 25 September 2020 on the topic "Shapes." The idea behind the presentation was to make the kids aware of different shapes. As an experiment they made a 'House' and an 'Ice cream', which indeed was a fun-loving experience for the little ones.

3R's (Save Environment)

"To Breathe Clean Go Green." Pre School Aster of Sam International School conducted a special presentation on the topic 3R's to save the 'Environment' on 22 September 2020. The tiny tots, through various examples, focused on Reducing, Reusing and Recycling the products to decrease the pollution and keep the Earth clean.

E- PTM of Class V

An online Parents Teachers Meeting was held on 18th September 2020 for the classes V-E and V-F The parents were happy to interact with the teachers from the comfort of their home. The parents gave their valuable feedbacks and suggestions for the improvement and development of the students. The parents lauded the efforts of all the teachers in taking online classes and said that they were doing wonderful job in keeping the students busy during the lockdown . They expressed their gratitude towards the Principal , Ms. Karuna Verma for her tremendous efforts in the smooth functioning of the online classes

MONUMENTS OF INDIA

"Monuments are a Gateway to History." Pre- Primary Bulbul & Flamingo of Sam International School organised a virtual tour on the topic "Monuments of India" . The children talked about different monuments using colourful props. Such activities help the little ones understand the history, art and culture of India.

READING WEEK CELEBRATION

*"Reading is a passport to countless adventures."* Our little SAMites from class I and II had successfully celebrated 'Reading Week Activity' while playing the role of their favourite characters from different stories. Such activities build up confidence in our little ones.

An Online PTM at SAM

The last day of the PTM at SAM went off smoothly. The virtual interaction between parents and teachers was organised for classes V C , V D , X B , X C , XII A and XII C on 16th September 2020. Teachers updated the parents about their ward’s performance. The concerns of the parents about the online classes were duly addressed by the teachers. Parents were thankful to the school authorities and Principal Ms Karuna Verma for successfully conducting online classes during the current ongoing crisis. We at SAM are grateful to all the parents for their invaluable feedback and look forward to their continuous support.

Community Helpers

"I am a community helper, Brave and True....I help the town with the things I do." Pre Primary Canary & Dove of Sam International School enthusiastically participated in virtual presentation on the topic “Community Helpers” on 15 September 2020. Dressed up as Doctors, Nurses, Policemen etc. , little Samites spoke about the duties and responsibilities of the community helpers which they were representing using their vibrant props . Such presentations make the children aware of the people who help us.

Online PTM

SAM International School strongly believes that Parent Teacher Meeting plays a crucial role in facilitating holistic development of a child. It helps to find solutions to many problems that hinder the growth and development of a child. A virtual PTM was organized for class XII B, XI B, IX A , IX B, VIIIC, VIII D, IV F and IV G on September 14, 2020. The class teachers interacted with the parents and briefed them about their ward's progress and performance. The parents were delighted to know that their wards were coping well with the virtual classes. They also came up with valuable suggestions and expressed their gratitude to the whole team of Sam International School for providing a unified platform to enrich teaching learning process. The PTM ended on a positive note.

Day five of the virtual PTM, which was organised for classes 8A, 8B, 4D and 4E ,went off smoothly. All parents actively participated in the meeting and were satisfied with the online classes. They gave valuable feedbacks and suggestions with respect to improvement and development of their wards. Parents lauded the innovative teaching methodologies in taking the online classes. The PTM ended on positive note with the parents expressing their gratitude towards the management and the Principal Ms Karuna Verma.

E-PTM

E-PTM was conducted on 11th September, 2020 for classes 7D, 7E,4 B and 4C. Parents expressed their happiness and said that they were satisfied with the online teaching learning process. They discussed the areas of improvement with respect to their wards. Parents appreciated the hard work of all the teachers and were especially thankful to the Principal Ms Karuna Verma for the efficient and effective management of online classes during this pandemic situation. Overall the PTM was a success as parents promised to cooperate with the teachers for the bright future of their wards .

Day 4 of virtual PTM

Classes 3G, 4A , 7B and 7C had their PTM on 10th, September 2020. The online interaction between the parents and the teachers with regards to the progress of their wards turned out to be quite fruitful. Parents felt that current online classes are a great initiative to bridge the education gap during this period of lockdown.They thanked the teachers for their hard work and perseverance in imparting knowledge to the students. Most of the parents said that their children have easily adapted to the new learning platform all because of the teachers who have made it enjoyable and easy. Such words of appreciation and encouragement from parents fraternity is like a beacon of hope for the team SAM

PTM

"Children are the priority, Change is the reality and Collaboration is the Strategy." SAM International School is blissful to witness the synergy between the teachers and the continuous support of the parent community. First online PTM of Class I and II was successfully organised on 9th and 10th of September 2020 and got tremendous feedback from the parents that motivates us to work more efficiently .

Virtual PTM

“Education is a shared commitment between dedicated teachers, motivated students and enthusiastic parents “ Today online PTM was organised for classes 3E, 3F, 6E and 7A. Parents were extremely happy and praised the management for giving them this virtual platform to discuss the progress of their wards. They thanked the teachers for keeping theIr children busy with constructive activities during these stressful times. The use of audiovisual methods and presentations while conducting online classes was lauded by all. They were satisfied that they could monitor the progress of their wards through online live session. Overall , the parents were extremely appreciative of the efforts taken by the Management , Principal Ms Karuna Verma and the teachers.

Virtual PTM

Happy Teachers Day

‘ A good teacher can inspire hope, ignite imagination and instil love for learning. ‘ The Sam International School celebrated Teacher’s Day on 5th September, 2020 with great gusto and enthusiasm. As a mark of respect and gratitude small presentation was made on behalf of all the teachers to thank Chairman Mr Praveen Kumar and Principal Ms Karuna Verma. The students council gave everyone a pleasant surprise with their virtual performance as a token of affection ,respect and recognition for the hard work put in by the teachers towards their development. A plethora of activities were conducted by various classes to celebrate the day. Students of classes 1 and 2 made beautiful stick puppets and cards for their mentors . The students also wrote poems to highlight the importance of a guru . They also presented their amazing artwork prepared for this special occasion as a token of love for the teachers. The Chairman , the Principal and the teachers were overwhelmed by the efforts and love shown by the students.

Healthy and Junk Food

"Junk food satisfies for a minute. Healthy food satisfies life. " Pre-School Daffodil of Sam International School actively participated in a virtual presentation on the topic "Healthy and Junk food" on 1 September 2020. The children presented the topic confidently and also talked about the benefits of healthy food in our daily routine using colourful props. These activities help the little ones to have a better understanding of the topic.

Career Fair

> On 24 August 2020, online Career Fair was organised for the students of class 12th by Edu TV. More than 100 students attended this virtual session. > Pearl Academy,UPES, Universal Business School And Shobhit University were some of the higher learning and professional institutes which participated in the fair. > The session briefed the students about the new age careers and highlighted the essential skills like emotional intelligence, critical thinking, complex problem-solving, cognitive flexibility etc required in today’s professional world. Students learnt about variety of courses like jewellery designing product designing, biomedical engineering, agri-informatics, cloud computing offered by these institutes. > Overall it was the enriching and informative experience for the students.

Online PTM

"Together we may give our children the roots to grow and the wings to fly." An online PTM was conducted by the Pre School of Sam International School on 21 August and by the Pre Primary on 22 August 2020. The aim of the meeting was to discuss the progress of the little ones. The parents were thankful to the teachers and the management for providing successful online classes for the little ones, as they are learning by involving themselves in different activities.

Poster and Slogan Writing Competition on Vector Borne Diseases

To create the awareness among the students regarding the vector borne diseases like dengue, chikungunya and malaria poster and slogan writing competition was organised for students of class 6th to 12th through online mode. Students participated in the competition with a lot of verve and enthusiasm. “Small bites big diseases “, “Don’t let the vectors bite you “, fight the bite day and night “ were some of the slogans written by the students on the vector borne diseases. The posters also highlighted various ways of controlling the spread of these diseases like using mosquito repellents, pour outstanding water, keep your surroundings clean etc

Gandagi Mukt Bharat Campaign

A week long activities were organised in SAM International School to celebrate the country’s 74th Independence Day. Students participated in the various virtual events organised by the CBSE with lot of excitement and enthusiasm. They took part in Gandagi Mukta Bharat (GMB)Campaign for Swachhata from 8th August to 15 August 2020. Various competitions were organised under GMB campaign. Students of classes 1,2 and 3 planted medicinal sapling like Basil , Aloevera, carom seeds in a pot . They wrote several benefits of these plants and shared beautiful photographs with it. Students of class 4 and 5 conveyed very effectively the various ways to ban single use plastic (SUP) through their drawings. The topic for classes 6-8 painting and slogan writing competition was “Gandagi Mukt Mera Bharat”. They expressed their thoughts in very artistic manner through their thought provoking paintings and slogans. Students of classes 9 to 12th wrote essays on “Gandagi Mukta Mera Bharat.” Students penned down some very effective ways of fulfilling the dreams of the father of nation Mahatma Gandhi and making the country Clean and healthy. The week-long celebration culminated on 15th August with the declaration of the winners in the various categories. Heartiest congratulations to all the winners. May you win more such accolades for yourself and your school.

Happy Independence Day

ndia’s 74th Independence Day was celebrated at Sam International School in the “new normal “way. The covid -19 could not mar the patriotic feelings of SAMites and amidst the pandemic national flag was hoisted by the school Chairman Mr Praveen, in the presence of Principal Mrs Karuna Verma and limited staff members. In the run-up to the Independence week number of virtual competitions like poster making ,slogan writing ,essay writing and sapling plantations were organised for the students to keep them connected. On the occasion Principal greeted everyone. She said that we all should look for an opportunity in the midst of the current crisis.We should remain optimistic and motivated as the current uncertainty will soon end and the country will become free from this deadly virus.

Janmashtami Celebration 2020

The SAM family celebrated the festival of Janmashtami with a lot of fervour and excitement. According to the Hindu calendar, this festival is celebrated on the Ashtami of Krishna Paksha or the eighth day of dark fortnight in the month of Bhadrapada. It is believed that Lord Krishna was born at midnight on this day. The tiny tots of pre-primary classes were told about Lord Krishna’s life and shown a movie on this charismatic God. Beautiful origami peacock feathers, colourful matkis and eye-catching flutes were made by students of classes 1 and 2. Children also danced on the enchanting songs of Bal Gopal. Students of senior classes depicted the incidents from the life of Lord Krishna through their expressive art work. The Covid pandemic did not mar the spirit of celebration at SAM. The students had great fun and participated wholeheartedly in the virtual celebration of the festival.

Animal kingdom

Let's go "wild for wildlife." A virtual tour to a 'Mini Zoo' was organised by the little chirpy blooming buds of Pre Primary Angel Bird and Eagle of Sam International School on 7 August 2020. The children dressed up in beautiful attire with eye catchy makeup, gave a glimpse of the 'Mini Zoo.' They confidently emphasized on the characteristics of different animals.

Friendship Day

"True friends are never apart." Friendship day is celebrated to express our love and gratitude for our friends. Maintaining social distancing , little Samites celebrated a virtual Friendship Day this year. They made beautiful greeting cards and friendship bands.They wished each other. No doubt Childhood friends are irreplaceable.

World Tiger Day

"Save Tigers , Save Our pride." The 'World Tiger Day' is celebrated globally on 29 July every year. The day is intended to raise awareness about the declining number of Tigers and to promote their conservation. Our little Samites also contributed to spread the word with their fascinating masks and "Handprint paper craft tiger making" activity which was conducted during the Art class.

Places of Worship

"Let's celebrate our togetherness." The Pre School of Sam International School organised a virtual tour on the topic "Places of Worship" on 28th July,2020. Teachers shared the thought that we should respect and love all forms of religion. Our little Samites dressed up in different religious attires, spoke confidently on different places of worship. Children gave the message to all that God is one, but has different forms.

WORLD NATURE CONSERVATION DAY

“ Earth provides enough to satisfy every man’s needs but not every man’s greed “ The scholars of SAM International School celebrated World Nature Conservation Day 2020 on 28th July , to highlight the importance of nature and greenery around us and the necessity of conserving it. Students made posters and drawings to remind people of their duty to take care of the mother Earth and protect its natural resources. They beautifully conveyed the mantra to “ Rethink, Replenish and Recycle“ in order to enjoy the sustainable future.

Rainy season PS PP

"Listen to the Rhythm of the falling Rain." Those who say only sunshine brings happiness have never experienced the rain. Yes! the drizzling season has arrived and made everything greener and happier than ever before. This week our little ones welcomed Rainy season with great enthusiasm and thoroughly enjoyed it. Drenched in rain, playing with the paper boats, eating the yummy treats, Samites learnt how different seasons affect our living style.

Vector borne diseases

"Keep your surroundings mosquito free". The Pre School of Sam International School actively participated in a virtual class conducted on the topic 'Vector Borne Diseases' on 21st July 2020. The little ones looked vibrant with their colourful headgears and props. The kids confidently spoke on different diseases and their required precautions. The School has always focussed on 'Keeping the surroundings clean and mosquito free.‘

Plants are the lungs of our planet

Plants are the lungs of our planet." Can you imagine a day without PLANTS ? Ofcourse you cannot ! Plants not only give us oxygen to breathe but also fulfill our other basic survival needs. Plants make our surroundings beautiful like they say "Mother nature has got the best box of crayons". To acknowledge and appreciate the forever giving Nature, our little Samites learnt about versatile nature of plants and participated in an activity to embrace their learning.

Opposite Words

"Everything is known through its opposite" Pre School of Sam International School has always believed in 'Learning by Doing'. Keeping this in mind the tiny tots enjoyed doing different activities on 14th July 2020 on the topic 'Opposite Words'. These activities helped the little ones to describe different objects. Children gathered a lot of confidence by speaking and using colourful props.

World Paper Bag Day

‘ Reduce and refuse plastic bags, instead renew, reuse and recycle paper bags “ Students of Sam international school demonstrated their creativity by making colourful and beautiful paper bags from old newspapers on the occasion of Paper Bag Day which is observed globally on July 12, every year. They wrote beautiful slogans and decorated the bags in myriad ways using ribbons, beads, stickers and other decorative items. To preserve and save our planet the students took the pledge to use the eco-friendly option of paper bags instead of plastic to help reduce plastic waste that takes thousands of years to decompose.

Green Colour Day PS PP

"Green, the colour of calmness and relaxation". The Pre Primary wing of Sam International School celebrated 'Green Colour Day' on 10th July 2020. Children dressed in different shades of Green looked beautiful and enjoyed the activities like colouring and blending colours. The objective behind these activities was to make the kids aware of the Green colour in the surroundings. The blending of yellow and blue colour to create Green colour brought smiles on the faces of the kids.

Van Mahotsav

“He who plants a tree, Plants a hope.” Happy days are back again, as the online classes resumed for the little ones of Pre Primary wing of Sam International School on 3rd July 2020. Excitement doubled while they participated in fun filled activities, themed ‘Van Mahotsav’, where the little artists engaged themselves in ‘Hand Printing’ and ‘Fork Printing’ activities.

International Yoga Day

‘A healthy mind, resides in a healthy body’ This can be achieved only if we take good care of our physical health. To bring forth this message the Sam International School celebrated International Yoga Day on 21st June 2020 through digital platform. Due to corona virus pandemic the theme for this year’s Yoga day is ‘ yoga at home and yoga with family.’ Keeping this in mind the Sports department of SIS organised the yoga session through video conferencing app. Students performed various asanas under the guidance of the sports faculty of the school. The highly energising session concluded with pranayama and Omkar chanting. Mrs Karuna Verma, Principal Sam International School, through her online message encouraged the students to practice regular yoga to remain fit , boost memory and improve concentration.

Happy Father's Day

“ A dad is someone who holds you when you cry, scolds you when you break the rules, shines with pride when you succeed and has faith in you even when you fail....” A father’s selfless love is pivotal in nurturing the child and there could not be more universal celebration than the one that celebrates the efforts of the father. On the occasion of the Father’s Day ,21st June , 2020 students of Sam International School made their daddies feel special by making greeting cards, posters and hand made gifts. Some even wrote beautiful poems for their fathers. The students acknowledged the efforts made by the head of the family in raising and nurturing their kids. They also shared some amazing clicks celebrating the occasion with their dear fathers .

FRESH VEGGIES DAY

FRESH VEGGIES DAY Fresh Veggies Day is observed on 16th of June every year. It aims at raising awareness about the importance of intake of fresh vegetables,its nutritious values and how it boosts our immunity. The students were advised not to consume canned or tinned food. To celebrate this day, little Samites consumed fresh seasonal vegetable' juice, soup, salad and other items to tone up their growing physique. They also promised to eat veggies everyday without being picky.

World Environment Day

Protecting environment is not a single day's job, it's our responsibility for as long as we are living on this planet.' WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY falls on JUNE 5. Its aim is “encouraging worldwide awareness and action for the protection of our environment”. Our young and enthusiastic Samites contributed their bit as responsible citizens. They made beautiful shoebox' bird house for little birdies, made posters on - how we can save our environment and were determined to tell the world to STOP USING PLASTICS, which is one of the main reasons for environment pollution. They also took an oath to save the environment from destruction. Keep your world clean and green. Save trees,Save the environment!! HAPPY WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY !

World Milk Day

Raise your glasses to better days ahead... we believe this (pandemic) too, shall pass. World Milk Day is observed worldwide on 1st of June .The day highlights the importance of milk and how we can include it in our daily diet. Teachers of Sam International School took this opportunity to raise awareness about the benefits of milk in the growing years of children's lives, how it boosts immunity and nourishes them. The teachers also showed various milk products to enhance their knowledge. Learners enjoyed drinking milk in the virtual class itself, wrote down slogans and did theme based drawing. The session ended with empty glasses and healthy bodies. #BetterImmunityBetterGrowth

World No Tobacco Day

World No Tobacco Day or Anti Tobacco Day is celebrated on 31st May every year. This year’s theme is “ Protecting youth from industry manipulation and preventing them from tobacco and nicotine use” The scholars of SAM International School created awareness about the health risks associated with tobacco use through their thought provoking posters, paintings and slogans. Their drawings highlighted the harmful effects of smoking and other tobacco products.The students , also took an oath to stay away from tobacco and promised to become a tobacco free generation.

Sandwich Making Activity (Pre Primary wing)

"Health is wealth". A healthy diet full of protein , fibre and vitamins is essential . So to inculcate healthy eating habits among the tiny tots, the Pre Primary wing organized a 'Sandwich Making Activity' on 28th May 2020. Children thoroughly enjoyed the activity, from spreading butter, mayonnaise and ketchup to decorating it with the slices of cucumber, boiled potatoes, tomatoes, carrots etc.

Virtual celebrations are the order of the day, be it birthdays, anniversaries or festivals. So keeping in tune with the prevailing scenario students of SAM International School celebrated the festival of Eid-Ul-Fitr from the safe environs of their homes. To depict the spirit of festivity the students made drawings, greeting cards and wrote beautiful messages. Their handiwork not only showcased their creativity and talent but also accentuated the feeling of brotherhood, tolerance, peace and compassion. On the occasion, Mrs Karuna Verma, Principal SAM International School conveyed her greetings and wished “ Eid Mubarak” to all the students, parents and the members of the staff.

The festival of breaking the fast

*Eid-ul-Fitr - "The festival of breaking the fast".* It marks the end of the month-long sunrise-to-sunset fasting of Ramadan. Eid-ul-Fitr is a festival of prayers, joy, happiness & brotherhood and is celebrated by Muslims all across the globe. The celebration began by showing the video of one of the very known stories "Idgah" by Munshi Premchand intending to describe the importance of this festival by sharing joys, meeting others, distributing sweets among their loved ones and giving alms to the needy. The students made decorative torans, cards and wind chimes with moons and stars alongwith their class teachers to mark the occasion. It was indeed a moment of fun and enjoyment.

Eid ul- Fitr celebration (Pre Primary wing)

The little cherubs of Pre Primary wing celebrated the auspicious festival of Eid- ul- fitr on 23rd May 2020.The teachers shared the information to enlighten them about the significance of the festival. Children dressed in beautiful traditional attire happily participated in the "Wind Bell" making activity.

Online essay competition

Essay writing is an art, through which the writer pen down his/ her knowledge on the given topic. To keep the students engaged during the lockdown The Future Foundation , Gurgaon organised online essay competition for classes IV to XII. New inventions in technology have made our life easier, Machine learning has transformed the face of education,Handheld devices have changed the way we read and learn were some of the essay topics given in the competition. The students of SAM International School participated wholeheartedly in the online event.They penned down their respective thoughts in unique and novel manner. The school is proud to announce that Priyanshu Mishra of VI-E and Dhanishtha Shukla of class VIII-B have secured 2nd and 3rd positions respectively. It was a session on current virtual learning that has become a backbone of schools, teachers, students, parents in today’s scenario due to corona virus commotion. Every year, 15th May is celebrated as International Family Day to highlight the importance of family units. Families are the foundation of society. Some of the formative years of our lives are celebrated with our families. Rightly so, the students of Sam International School celebrated International Day of Families with lot of fervour and enthusiasm. They shared beautiful pictures with their parents, grandparents, siblings and other family members on the occasion. Their pics and collages highlighted the strong bond of love and affection which the family members share among themselves.

World Endangered Species Day

*”Don’t be bitter,save the critters”* On 15 May,the students celebrated *”World Endangered Species Day.”* It is an open door for everybody to learn about the significance of protecting our endangered species,their habitats and measures of preserving them. One this occasion young enthusiasts through hand-made puppets became the *”voice of the voiceless.”* They also took a pledge to protect and preserve the endangered species for the future generations.

Purple Colour Day (Pre Primary)

“ Purple is a mysterious colour combining the red & blue to suggest both nobility & spirituality.” To teach our little buds about the colour of wisdom, royality and creativity, Pre Primary celebrated ‘Purple Colour Day’ on 13th May 2020. Children dressed in beautiful purple attire were all set to make their '3D grapes' with purple colour cutouts. Samites learned that purple is a blend of red and blue . It was a good learning experience for the kids.

Blue colour day (Pre School)

"Blue colour is everlastingly appointed by the deity to be a source of delight". The little ones of Pre School celebrated 'Blue colour day' on 12th May 2020. The learning was activity oriented where the children learnt about the colour by mixing blue colour in the water and making it blue. All dressed up in blue attire looked amazing and were ready to make their '3D WHALES'. It was a learning experience which was thoroughly enjoyed by the kids.

God could not be everywhere, and therefore he made mothers

Mother’s Day celebrates the essence of mother. There cannot be more universal celebration than this one as people across regions, castes, cultures and genders have emotional binding to their mothers.They are the ones who shower selfless affection on their children without any expectations. Despite the lockdown and all other restrictions around, students of Sam International School came forward to make their mothers feel special through their virtual celebration. They recorded interesting messages to express their gratitudes for their lovely mothers. They also made beautiful cards and wrote poems to highlight the irreplaceable place mothers have in their lives. Students exalted their mothers as God, teacher, friend, philosopher and guide. There is no denying the fact that mothers are the emotional backbone of the family who possess the magic touch to make everything beautiful around them. It has been rightly said about all mothers that: “A mother is she who can take the place of all others, but whose place no one else can take .”

Children are excited about mother's day. To show their love and gratitude, Pre Primary wing organized a 'Tiara Making Activity' on 8th May 2020. The children gave the Tiara's to their mothers as a token of appreciation for their efforts and everlasting love.

Mother - a creator, an epitome of selfless love, a best friend forever

The bond of a mother and her child is beyond any other relationship in the world . To make this Mother’s Day special a fancy dress competition and dance competition were conducted to make this occasion memorable. The mothers also enjoyed participating in the best out of waste activity. Students hugged & kissed their mothers and gave them handmade card as a gesture of love.

Summer Party

Touch the sea,and feel the sky, Let your soul and spirit fly.” To recapitulate the topic ‘Summer season in a fun ‘n’ frolic way ,Summer party was organised for the little ones of Pre Primary wing on 2nd May 2020, where the children enjoyed the party by wearing colourful Summer attire, goggles , caps and hats. Attractive party corners were decorated by the parents and the teachers to make children recap the things they eat,use and wear during summer season. Children relished summer fruits, shakes, juices during party time . They all excitedly participated in the dance session and created memories.

International Labour Day

1st May is celebrated as International Labour Day across the globe. In India this day is also known as Shramik Divas, Mazdoor Divas and Kamghar Divas . On this occasion, students of Sam International School came forward in strong support of the labourers worldwide. From their slogans,poems, speeches and drawings it was evident that they felt strongly for the plight of the labourers across the country. It has been rightly said that ‘ real heroes don’t wear capes. Real superheroes wear uniforms and badges.’ In light of the present global circumstances, our frontline workers like doctors, nurses, police personnel and sanitary workers have truly risen to the occasion with utmost selflessness- They are no less than super heroes. Sam students highlighted this fact that labourers are the real architects of our society. The management, the staff and the students of Sam International School salute and thank all the essential service providers for their selfless commitment to the nation.

Cleanliness is next to Godliness

Cleanliness plays a vital role in our daily lives towards keeping our mind and body healthy. Keeping this in mind, a special topic was discussed with the little ones of Pre Primary related to ‘Personal Cleanliness’ on 30th April 2020, where they were told about different ways to keep their body clean like brushing teeth,taking bath daily,trimming nails etc. by showing real objects and pictures,with the thought 'Be clean, Be healthy’. To highlight the importance of washing hands , children happily recited the rhyme - wash,wash,wash your hands.

Dance is the hidden language of the soul.

To celebrate and mark the significance of International Dance Day, tiny tots of Pre Primary wing participated in a dance session on 29th April 2020 with zeal and vigour. Teachers shared the information to enlighten them about the significance of the day. Children enjoyed the session wholeheartedly

Importance of Trees

“ Trees represents life, growth, peace and nature.” Trees are very important and necessary for our existence, keeping this in mind, today on 28th April 2020, a special topic “Importance of Trees” was discussed with the little ones to create awareness among them. To ensure development of fine motor skills ,different activities were also conducted related to the topic. Children happily enjoyed colouring and pasting using waste material like twigs, pencil shaving , leaves and crayons. Tiny tots were also told about things we get from trees like oxygen,vegetables,fruits and pulses. They actively participated in Sorting Pulses which helped them in learning numbers. They were also encouraged to plant a tree.

Who says Maths is boring?

Inspiration by Principal ma'am led the teachers to motivate the students of class 9 at our School to study Mathematics in a creative and interesting manner. The students were taught a novel method of learning to construct the square root spiral which is also called as wheel of Theodorus. Students did this activity in which Art has evolved to describe a mathematical concept in such an artistic yet easy method, thus igniting the spark to gain knowledge among the learners in an innovative way.

WORLD MALARIA DAY 2020 Zero Malaria Starts with Samites.

World Malaria Day (WMD) is an international observance commemorated every year on 25 April and recognizes global efforts to control malaria. The day was established to provide "education and understanding of malaria" and spread information on "year-long intensified implementation of national malaria-control strategies, including community-based activities for malaria prevention and treatment in endemic areas. Students of SAM International School have shared their awareness to prevent this Protozoan Disease.

Let’s do something creative everyday.

To enhance the fine motor skills of the little ones of Pre Primary wing, a ‘Paper Folding Activity’ was conducted on 25th April 2020. Children participated with great zeal and zest in the activity where Pre School crafted ‘Dog Face’ and Pre Primary crafted ‘ Fish’ and displayed them with great pleasure.

Books have the unique ability both to entertain and to teach. They are at once a means of exploring realms beyond our personal experience. 23rd April, is celebrated annually as Shakespeare day. It was on this day that he was born in Stratford upon Avon, Warwickshire. This day also happens to be the death anniversary of this legendry writer. To make this day immortal in the annals of English history UNESCO has recognised the day as ‘World Book and Copy Right Day.’ Shakespeare is fondly remembered today because of his classic plays which include timeless themes such as friendship, love and vengeance. On this day, the junior scholars were briefed about his life and work. The students celebrated the day by spreading the message of 'Read More To Grow More'. They happily posed for the camera with their favorite book.

“Let us make our mother planet, a beautiful place to live.” On the occasion of International Earth Day (22nd April,2020) ,the naturalists of Pre Primary wing showed an array of creative activities. The teachers shared the importance of plantations , saving water and electricity and feeding birds and animals. The little ones enjoyed participating in different activities like- watering the plants, sowing plant seeds and colouring.

Earth day

Earth day is a day for all of us to remember the environment in our busy lives. A day that reminds us to continue to do the little things that help our environment. Things like turning off the lights, the conservation of energy, plant trees, recycle, reduce, and reuse.” On the 50th Earth day students of our school have taken initiative for spreading awareness about climate change, effects of climate change and save to mother Earth.

They expressed their gratitude to the planet, for the abundance of care & compassion by making posters and writing slogans. Our little ones took an oath to do their bit to save the planet as stated below - We will plant more trees We will save water We will save power by switching off light, fan, AC whenever we leave the room. Dear Students, Sam International School wishes all its students and their families on the occasion of “The Harvest Festival” – BAISAKHI. May the spirit of Baisakhi fill the lives of your near and dear ones with happiness, joy, wealth and prosperity. On this occasion let us all “Plant the seed of desire in the field of imagination to grow the harvest of invention.” To ensure the prosperity and the well-being of the citizens we have to contain the damage caused by the corona pandemic. Invention is the need of the hour. So let us all wear the caps of imagination and think out of box to find out innovative solutions to combat the deadly virus. Drones with thermal detectors are being used to detect people who might be infected. The development of contactless bins “Ally” to safeguard the frontline medical and sanitation workers is also a step in this direction. Trip to The Mughal Garden

The school organized a trip to the Mughal Garden for classes PS, PP, I and II on 4th March, 2020. The children were awed by the bewitching beauty of colorful flowers, lush green lawns and the playful fountains. It was a delightful day for all.

Birthday celebrations (Pre-Primary wing)

"Birthday celebrations are always filled with love, laughter and joy." The pre-primary wing of Sam international school celebrated the last birthday bash of this session. The beautifully dressed little samites celebrated the spacial day with their teachers, parents and peer group. The excitement of kids was seen during the cake cutting ceremony along with the gifts. The joy got doubled when the parents won prices for the different races organised for them.

Workshop on Cleanliness of river Yamuna

The Eco club members of the school attended a workshop on ‘Cleanliness of river Yamuna’ organized by SCERT at Tyagraj Stadium on Feb 19, 2020. The theme of workshop was to sensitise the school children about cleaning of Yamuna. Ms Neelam Aggarwal, Senior Scientist, Department of Environment, enlightened the teachers about the importance of water, pollution in river Yamuna, importance of biodiversity , rejuvenation of river Yamuna and importance of eco friendly material. The workshop was very informative and provided guidelines for conducting activities in the school to spread awareness among the students about the above issues.

Blessing & Citation Ceremony (2019-20)

Blessing Ceremony was organised on 12th of Feb 2020 for the students of class X and XII. Students arrived in the school with their parents for taking their admit card and blessings of their teachers. A Hawan was organised for the blessings of Maa Saraswati. Mr Parveen Kumar, Chairman and Ms Karuna Verma, Principal blessed the students. The students were also told about the 'Do's and Dont's' during the exams by Principal ma'am. The students of class XII along with their parents also attended a Career Counseling Workshop organised by active members of Edu.tv represented by Mr Pranav and Ms Tanya. Various top brass Indian Universities were present for the workshop. The workshop had key note speakers of different Universities like Vijaybhumi University, Shobhit University, Graphic Era University and Scholarship facilitation Services group. Citation Ceremony was also held for class XII students and titles were given to all the students. Each child felt special to hear the words spoken by the teachers in their praise. The auspicious day came to an end creating nostalgic memories with a group photograph, distribution of momentos and luncheon for all parents, students and teachers.

SPACE Explorers Workshop

An Astronomy Workshop was conducted by 'SPACE Explorers' for the students in the school premises on 11th of Feb 2020. It was specifically designed to give hands on experience to the students about the various aspects of Space Science. The different activities undertaken for various class groups were like: -- For classes Kg to II - Assembling a Satellite. The kids were informed about the functions of a satellite. Students constructed their own satellite models with the help of the resource persons. -- For classes III to V – Martian Rover Model. Students were educated about the Martian Rover and its parts. The students participated in a fun filled activity by assembling the jumbled pieces of a Martian Rover. -- For classes VI to IX – Hydrobot. The students were explained the concept of hydraulics and the new water robots. They also created a dummy model of the Hydrobot. All the students were given take away kits for the activities done by them in the workshop.

Voter Awareness - Poster Making Competition

“Voter Awareness” On 5th Feb 2020, the school organized a “Poster Making Competition” in the school premises. In this event, students designed posters on the theme “Voter Awareness”, to encourage the people to vote during the upcoming Delhi Elections. Students used different slogans to put forth their words in a more creative way.

Can Support 13th Annual Walk-a-thon

A walk-a-thon for Cancer Awareness was organized by Can Support Group on 02nd Feb 2020, Sunday at Rajpath, New Delhi. Our students and teachers participated in the event enthusiastically. The motto of the event was to fight against rising Cancer in India and create awareness among people about this fatal disease. The students walked from Rajpath to India Gate along with innumerable students from different schools, to show solidarity in the fight against Cancer.

Friendship - The Greatest gift of life (Morning assembly students of IV- C)

Don’t walk in front of me, I may not follow. Don’t walk behind me, I may not lead. Just walk beside me and be my friend. Morning assembly was conducted (3rd February) by the students of IV- C on the topic "Friendship - The Greatest gift of life." The students performed a skit, poem and moral lecture in which they showed the importance of friendship.

Basant Panchami celebration (Pre Primary Wing)

“ May the occasion of Basant Panchami bring the wealth of knowledge to all.” ‘Basant Panchami’ also spelled Vasant Panchami, is a festival that marks the preparation for the arrival of spring season. This festival is celebrated by people in various ways. Pre Primary wing of Sam International School celebrated the festival with cultural fervour on January 30, 2020. Tiny tots dressed up in yellow attire enjoyed watching the video related to Basant Panchami.

Basant Panchami (Special assembly class I)

Basant Panchami' The Spring Festival Basant Panchami is celebrated in reverence to the Hindu Goddess Saraswati, epitome of knowledge, music and art. The students of class I A conducted a special assembly to celebrate the occasion. The atmosphere reverbrated with a melodious Saraswati Vandana followed by a group dance. They also recited a poem on Basant Panchami. Principal Ms.Karuna Verma, offered prayers to the goddess and explained the significance of the festival to the students.

Elements of Nature (special assembly by Pre Primary - Eagle)

“Nature plays an important role to save the human soul.” A special assembly was conducted by Pre Primary (Eagle) of Sam International School on January 29, 2020. The topic of the assembly was ‘Elements of Nature’. Tiny tots actively spoke about different elements of nature- Land,Air and Water. They also focused on the conservation of these natural resources by reciting rhyme “Polybags- here and there” by showing their vibrant and colourful props.

Educational visit to Gandhi Smriti

Sam International School planned a visit on 28th January 2020 for the students of Class V to Gandhi Smriti. Gandhi Smriti formerly known as Birla House or Birla Bhavan, is a museum dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi, situated on Tees January Road in New Delhi. It is the location where Mahatma Gandhi spent the last 144 days of his life and was assassinated on 30 January 1948. It was originally the house of the Indian business tycoons, the Birla family. It is now also home to the Eternal Gandhi Multimedia Museum, which was established in 2005. Students took a tour of the building which has a big lawn and museum. The visit was a grand success due to the overwhelming response of the students.

Korea-India Friendship Quiz Competition 2020

To promote bilateral relations between the two countries, Korea- India Friendship Quiz Competition was held on 27th January 2020 in the school. The idea behind the Quiz Competition was to spread awareness about the Korean History and Culture among the students. The Students were provided with the study material for the same. It was an enriching experience for the students.

Family bonding (Morning assembly students of IV- B)

Morning assembly was conducted today by the students of IV- B on the topic " Family bonding - A family is an integral part of a kid's life". The students performed a skit and a poem in which they presented the values what they have learned from their family.

Workshop on “Anger Understanding and Handling”

Workshop on “Anger Understanding and Handling” Keeping in mind the Mental Wellness of her Educators, the School Principal, Ms. Karuna Verma organized a workshop on “Anger Understanding and Handling” on 25th Jan 2020. The resource person was Mr. Ashish Bawa, Consultant, Stress Management and OEL and Vice President, DCWS (Delhi Council for Welfare of Sportsmen). It was a generic anger management workshop designed to address the impact of anger directed towards the professional from all aspects including work colleagues.The resource person taught the teachers how to manage their own anger as well as that of service users, to recognize what triggers anger generically and how to address those in danger of escalating from anger to violence. The workshop concluded with participants gaining a greater understanding of their own boundaries concerning anger directed at them and anger arising within them. The workshop empowered the teachers to differentiate between destructive and constructive anger, enabling them to be more productive at work.

71st Republic Day celebration (Middle wing)

On 24th January 2020, Republic Day celebration was organised in the school premises. The little tots of the school were dressed elegantly in the tri colors of our national flag. The ceremony started with the national flag hoisted by Honorable Chairman, Shri Parveen Kumar, followed by National Anthem. School Deputy Prime Minister, Aman Srivastava gave a speech on “Young India”. The students also presented an array of cultural songs and dance performances. It ended with a patriotic speech by School Principal, Ms. Karuna Verma.

71st Republic Day celebration (Pre Primary wing)

“Let us remember the golden heritage of our country India.” On the occasion of 71st Republic Day, Pre Primary wing of Sam International School celebrated the spirit of patriotism on January 24, 2020. The whole wing was decorated with the tricolour kites and hangings. The program started with the melodious singing of the song ‘My Flag’. Our Respected Principal Ma’am Ms. Karuna Verma honoured the sacrifices of our soldiers at Amar Jawan Jyoti along with our three forces - Army, Navy and Air Force followed by the pledge. Little ones confidently spoke about the National Symbols. They also happily danced on the song ‘ suno gaur se duniyawalo’. Samites enjoyed Ear Bud Printing and Colouring in the National Flag and relished Tricolour sandwich and chocolates. The program concluded with the National Anthem.

Brief Sketch of the great Indian nationalist, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose (morning assembly

On the 123rd birth anniversary of the great Indian nationalist, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, the students presented a brief sketch of his life through slogans and a play in the morning assembly. A video on his life and work was also shown to the students.

Maroon Colour Day celebration (Pre Primary)

“Maroon is the colour of confidence and creativity.” Pre Primary of Sam International School celebrated ‘Maroon Colour Day’ on January 20, 2020 with zest. Children dressed in Maroon colour actively participated in Colour Blending Activity in their books.

All India Swachh Bharat Art Competition 2019-20

All India Swachh Bharat Art Competition 2019-20 It is raining awards! Yes! The school has added yet another feather to its already colourful hat. In the 'All India Swachh Bharat Art Competition 2019-20' the school bagged the following awards: 1.School Of Excellence Award. 2.Principal Ms. Karuna Verma was felicitated with 'National Clean India Activity Principal Award' 3.National Clean India Activity Teacher Award was given to the art teacher. 4.Swachh Bharat Art Excellence Award was given to 25 students.

Pink Colour Day Celebration

“Pink colour makes everything look pretty.” On January 17, 2020, Pre School of Sam International School celebrated ‘Pink Colour Day’ with fun and excitement. Children dressed in vibrant shades of pink thoroughly enjoyed Colouring Activity in their books.

Eating Seasonal Vegetables Special assembly conducted by Pre Primary (Angel Bird)

“Vegetables are good to eat, Healthy food can be a treat.” To inculcate the value of eating seasonal vegetables, Pre Primary ( Angel Bird) of Sam International School conducted a special assembly on January 16, 2020. The topic of the assembly was Seasonal Vegetables. Children actively spoke on the importance of eating seasonal vegetables by showing their attractive props. At the end, the whole class took the pledge that they will eat seasonal vegetables to stay fit and healthy.

Winter Season Special assembly conducted by (Pre Primary - Bulbul)

“Winter, winter cold and nice, a mug of hot milk would be nice.” A special assembly was conducted by Pre Primary (Bulbul) of Sam international School on January 14, 2020. The topic of the assembly was Winter Season. Children were dressed in beautiful and colourful attire .They spoke about different winter clothes, the things we eat, drink and use in winter season.

Makar Sankranti (Share and Care programme)

Festivals uplift not only individual spirit but also the collective spirit of the society. On the occasion of Makar Sankranti, Principal Ms.Karuna Verma interacted with the students and asked questions about how the festival is celebrated in different parts of India. She explained to them the objective behind celebrating the festival. Alms were also distributed under the Share and Care programme of the school, by Chairman Sir Mr. Praveen Kumar and principal ma'am.

"Meethe gur mein mil gaye til Udi patang aur khil gaye dil Har pal sukh aur har din shanti Aap sab ko mubarak Makar Sankranti.” Keeping this in mind, Pre Primary wing of Sam International School celebrated the festival of prayer, sweets and kites on January 14,2020. Children thoroughly enjoyed Kite Making Activity. The significance of the festival was also shown through a video.

Lohri celebration (Pre Primary wing)

“Let the vibrant and colour of Lohri brighten up everyone’s life.” Pre Primary wing of Sam International School celebrated the festival of Lohri with euphoria and excitement on January 13,2020. Tiny tots were beautifully dressed in traditional attire. The happiness of celebrating the first festival of the year can be seen on the faces of the little ones. Our Respected Principal Ma’am Ms. Karuna Verma lit up the holy bonfire. Samites rejoiced as they danced on traditional music and relished Peanuts , Popcorns and Rewari.

'Let's Share To Show We Care' donation campaign II

"Share And Care" The school's "Share And Care" club organised its second phase of "Let's Share To Show We Care" donation campaign on 10th January 2020, where in the students along with the teachers, visited Bal Seva Orphanage. The students interacted with the children and distributed clothes and eatables. They also visited the slum areas in and around Dwarka. It was an overwhelming experience.

65th SGFI Thang-Ta competition

“Nothing can stop you, when winning becomes an obsession” 65th SGFI Thang-Ta competition was held from 3rd January to 9th January 2020 at Tyagraj Stadium, New Delhi. Two students of the school brought laurels to the school by winning gold and a silver in the under-19 category of the competition. The winning champions are: Piyush Priyam(XI C) won Gold Medal in below 75kg category. He was also awarded with Rs 20000 as prize money. Maulik Dhyani (XII B) won Silver Medal in below 80kg category. He was awarded with prize money of Rs 15000.

Fit India Campaign

In order to maintain the robust health of the students in the biting cold weather, various physical fitness activities were organised on 26th December 2019 under “FIT INDIA CAMPAIGN” in which the students performed different yoga postures under the guidance of their PE teachers. The students performed various PT exercises and asanas.

'Let's Share To Show We Care' donation campaign

The 'Share and Care' club of the school which was started under the aegis of principal Ms Karuna Verma, organised a 'Let's Share To Show We Care' donation campaign, on 26th December 2019.The school council members and the teachers visited the underprivileged and distributed clothes and eatables.

Festival of Christmas (Morning assembly of students classes I and II)

The festival of Christmas was celebrated with much festive fervor, by the students of class I and II on 24th December 2019. During the morning assembly the students sang melodious carols and danced beautifully to wish their teachers and classmates thus spreading the message of love and joy. The significance of the festival was explained through a Christmas story.

Visit to Lal Bahadur Shastri Memorial!!!!

Sam International School planned a visit for the students of classes VI&VIII to Lal Bahadur Shastri Memorial,to evoke the patriotism within them and also to create a sense of belongingness towards the nation . The Memorial is dedicated to the second Prime Minister, Bharat Ratna Sh. Lal Bahadur Shastri who died, in the year 1966. Students were very curious to know about his struggle for freedom. He was a man of vision and of supreme patriotism. Students witnessed potted possessions of Shastri ji.The building is covered on the outside by a big lawn which also consists of an orchard, a badminton court, and a ‘mandap’ that has Shastriji’s imprints. The lawn was the place where Shastriji met people and discussed various matters. Another section under the shadow of the trees is a more private lawn where he used to meet his officials and did his paper work. The orchard is a symbol of Lal Bahadur Shastri’s popular message for the Nation- ‘jai jawan jai kisaan’. At the back portico, his famous Fiat car is displayed. Another section is wholly dedicated to the display of Shastriji’s personal things including his khadi dresses, a woollen coat gifted to him by Jawaharlal Nehru. The visit was an overall success with the students’ enthusiastic response.

Visit to Abdul Kalam Memorial!!!

Visiting a museum opens the door for your child’s curiosity in the form of questions. Questions that should be encouraged, questions that make you think, and questions that may not have answers. Keeping this in mind Sam International School planned a visit to APJ Abdul Kalam Memorial for the students of class IX on 24th December 2019 to pay homage to the missile man of India. Abdul Kalam memorial, built in remembrance of the Missile Man of India is the place where children witnessed all his contributions and accolades. Situated in the Dilli Haat, INA, the students were acquainted with the life of the legend who made India stand tall in the World. They also checked out the collections of books written by the great soul and also books written about him and his life, a man who spent his simple life despite achieving so much, is the embodiment of how down to Earth a person should be.

Inter Class Carol Singing Competition (Classes III-V)

A Christmas carol is a song whose lyrics are on the theme of Christmas, and which is traditionally sung on Christmas.To celebrate the same in the school an inter class Carol Singing Competition was held for the students of on 24th December 2019 . The students showed their enthralling performance. The competition was graced by the esteem presence of the Principal Ma'am.The competitors sang a variety of Christmas songs . They came up with such melodious voices which appealed the audience and judges. All our young children who took part in the competition made it a great success. All of them sang to their level best.

“Praise God,Trust God and Thank God.” Christmas is celebrated to remember the birth of Lord Jesus Christ. Keeping this in mind, a visit to the church “ The Lady of Lourdes” was organised for the Pre Primary wing of Sam International School on December 23,2019. Children diligently participated in the prayer session. They also enjoyed watching a video on sharing and caring. Soaking in the spirit of Christmas, tiny tots of Pre Primary wing of Sam International School celebrated Christmas on December 24, 2019 with great enthusiasm and zest. The significance of the festival was shown by cake cutting ceremony by our Respected Principal Ma’am Ms. Karuna Verma. The students sang melodious carols followed by action song and danced beautifully to wish everyone a ‘Merry Christmas’. Children were also shown a video related to the Birth of Lord Jesus Christ.

“Love and Care towards Grandparents” A special assembly was conducted by Pre- Primary (Eagle) of Sam International School on December 20, 2019. The Topic of the assembly was “Love and Care towards Grandparents”. Tiny tots were dressed up as Grandparents in beautiful attire and confidently enacted, how to show Love and Care towards the Grandparents followed by cheerful dance on the song.

Workshop on Robotics

An Informative workshop was organised for the students on 20th December 2019.The resource person, Mr. Nitin Gambhir, heading STEM CENTER ACE elucidated the students about mechanism of robotics. Students learnt how to code and make robots, understood how the robots help human beings in making their task easy and how to utilize them to solve their everyday problems. Students were also educated about the different types of robots. The motive of this workshop was to make robotic tech-education simple for every child.

Workshop on Road Safety

Sam International School believes in overall safety and security of a child. Young children are especially vulnerable on the roads because of their developing senses, lack of awareness and distractibility. Keeping this in mind an enlightening workshop on Road Safety and Traffic rules was conducted for the students by Hindustan Times in collaboration with Hero Honda. Resource person Mr. Ashish Malviya, presently working for an NGO named Indian Road Safety Campaign began by snooping a question “Why focus on Road Safety”? He also guided about broadly categorized basic road signs and suggested them to be a good SAMARITAN, means one who, in good faith, without any expectation, voluntarily comes out forward to administer immediate assistance or emergency care to a person injured in an accident, or emergency medical condition. Road safety movies were also shown to educate the students. At the end of the session a pledge was taken by the students to obey traffic rules and also to be a good Samaritans.

Surprise Evacuation Drill

In the wake of growing uncertainty regarding natural disasters, a surprise evacuation drill was carried out in the school on 9th December 2019. Students rushed to the school playground through the already allocated Evacuation plans. The school Principal Ms. Karuna Verma addressed the students about the “Seven P’s”: Proper prior planning and preparation prevents poor performance and the steps to take during emergency situations.

Tiny tots explained the importance of winter season. The things we eat, drink and use during winter with the help of small skit and rhyme recitation.

A special assembly was conducted by Pre-school Bluebells and Daffodil of SAM International School on December 17,2019. The theme of the assembly was "COMMUNITY HELPERS". Children were beautifully dressed up according to the theme. They confidently spoke about different community helpers and excitedly recited the rhyme with full energy and gestures.

Bright Smile Bright Future (Dental Health Checkup)

The school in association with Colgate organized a free Dental Health Checkup for students, on 17th December, 2019 in the school premises. The students were highlighted about the eating patterns and food choices which cause tooth decay by the doctors. On completion of the dental checkup each student was given a Patient Card, a report summary of the diagnosed problem and the recommended dental treatment plan.

“The ocean brings external joy to the soul” special assembly Pre-Primary Flamingo

A special assembly was conducted by Pre-Primary Flamingo of SAM International School on December 16, 2019. The theme of the assembly was “WATER ANIMALS”. Children confidently spoke about different water animals and they excitedly recited the rhyme “Deep Deep Deep” with full energy and gestures.

International Day of Person with Disabilities

Small skit was presented by students of XI A which depicted that the people with disabilities should be treated equally. They should given emotional & physical support and should not be treated as a social burden. Students of class VI E presented a skit on Self Defence and demonstrated the skills of self defense. The students gave a message that we should always be aware of our surroundings and be prepared for the unexpected.

Space Workshop

Space Workshops propose hands-on learning opportunities in the field of Astronomy and Space Sciences for the students as their mind is triggered to ask questions instigate curiosity and discover the mysteries of our Universe. Keeping this objective in mind a space workshop was organized on 3rd December19 for the students to know the facts of 'Sun'. Resource persons from 'SPACE India' began the workshop by explaining interesting facts about Sun. The workshop was designed aptly for the students of different classes as per their syllabus. Students answered very enthusiastically and got hands on training for solar observation. Senior students also made a solar view box and viewed the Sun through telescope with filter. The workshop also made the students aware about astronomy and its relevance in our day-to-day life. The best part of the workshop which made students ecstatic was receiving a take away kit and information booklet with amazing facts and questions.

Inter- Class Mathematics quiz competition classes III-V

Mathematics is not only about numbers, equations or algorithms: It’s also about UNDERSTANDING. The window to a different perspective is quiz competition. The qualities of teamwork, time management and patience are promoted by quizzes only.Inter- Class Mathematics quiz competition was organized for classes III-V.The interactive presentation and the enthusiastic participation of the junior mathematicians was mind blowing. There were four teams (Ramanujan, Aryabhata, Bhaskara, and Pythagoras) in total and three rounds which comprised of pass it on round, rapid fire round and puzzle round. Ramanujan won the competition.It was altogether a fruitful event for all.

“FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS, THEY KNOW THE WAY” special assembly class XI B

A special assembly was conducted by class XI B on 6th December 2019, in the school assembly ground. The theme of the assembly was “FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS, THEY KNOW THE WAY”. The assembly started with Saraswati Vandana, followed by school prayer, thought of the day and news. A speech was also given elucidating the need to work earnestly and sincerely to follow our dreams leading undoubtedly to success. The assembly ended with National Anthem.

Plogging : Cleanliness drive

A cold December morning was changed into a heart-warming experience for the residents of Dwarka when the students of classes IV to XI participated in a cleanliness drive organised by Delhi Police on 7th December 2019. Plogging was first initiated by our respective Prime Minister Narendra Modi and following his footsteps, this early morning drive was carried out in Dwarka, New Delhi. The children made a human chain of joggers and cleaned the area outside the school. In the end, the DCP of Dwarka Zone gave an impressive speech on “The responsibility of citizens towards cleanliness” to the children.

Magic show

Magic shows always entertain the students through amazing feats conducted by the use of tricks, illusions and well practiced moves. A Magic Show was organized on 4th December, 2019 for the students. The magician performed several tricks on stage and left the children astonished and mesmerized. He also taught the children few magic tricks which left them spell bound.

CYBER UDAY, a cyber awareness workshop

'CYBER UDAY', a cyber awareness workshop was conducted by Delhi Police, Cyber Crime Cell on 02nd December 2019. Mr Anyesh Roy, DCP, Dwarka addressed the students and explained about various cyber issues, the helpline number and the laws guiding the cyber world. They were also made aware about the safe ways of using various cyber networking sites. The workshop concluded with Mr Aditya Gautan, ACP, Delhi Police Cyber Crime Cell taking the questions from the students.

"Good health is true Wealth." Morning assembly was conducted by IV-A on the topic “HEALTH IS WEALTH". The assembly started with Morning Prayer followed by pledge, news, thoughts and a beautiful skit. The students used banner and posters to create awareness about healthy food items and they understood that Health is our True wealth and we should take good care of it.

Fun ‘n’ Frolic event “JUBILANT”

“Play,learn & grow together.” Sam International School organized Fun ‘n’ Frolic event “JUBILANT” on 30,November 2019. The whole ground was dazzling and was ready to welcome the little ones who accompanied their parents and teachers. Various fun filled activities were organized for the little ones: * Fun races for kids and parents. * Magic Show * Dance * Trampoline * Caterpillar * Taekwondo Our Respected Principal Ma’am Ms. Karuna Verma wholeheartedly welcomed all the guests and shared the achievements and activities of the Annual Year. Flavoursome refreshments were served to the little ones and to bid them a sweet bye surprise gifts ( goody bags) were given to them. The bright faces and happy smiles showed that they had spent gala time at Sam.

"The Earth is what we all have in common". Morning assembly was conducted by V-E on the topic "Keep our surroundings clean". The assembly started with Morning Prayer followed by pledge, news and moral lecture shared by the young ones. The students performed a very informative skit which explained how our mother earth is in pain and grief due to the carelessness of human being. The assembly ended by oath taking.
